Animal Care and Use Committee

Principle
The advancement of both pure and applied knowledge requires scientific experimentation and educational instruction using animals. 动物的必要使用需要适当的监督和伦理考虑.

Mission
The Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) of 奥尔布莱特学院 is charged with the institutional oversight of animals and animal care personnel involved in research and teaching. The goal of the ACUC is to verify, 基于健全的科学和道德原则, the prudent use of animals and minimize the pain and discomfort of animal subjects in experiments and teaching exercises. ACUC is also responsible for ensuring all personnel involved in such experiments are informed of, 并且符合, 批准的人道关怀和使用动物的议定书和适用指南.
